The Carriage House at Country Woods Inn in Glen Rose, Texas, is right at the center of the action. This former hay barn has been converted into a one-bedroom, one-bath vacation home, with comfortable accommodations for up to four guests — right in the middle of our horse corral!
This family favorite offers barnyard fun for all ages, from the iconic “wakeup call” of the rooster to the wandering tomcat and the front porch view directly into the horses’ hangout. This cabin is steps away from all of our animals, as well as being close to our river and wooded walking trails.
Inside, The Carriage House has two private bedrooms furnished with one queen-sized bed and one full-sized bed. There is a full bath with a shower and a kitchen complete with dishes and appliances. You can also enjoy satellite TV and wireless internet during your stay at this cabin.
The Carriage House is a single-story home that is partially wheelchair-friendly. However, due to its historic construction, it does not have a ramp, a roll-in shower, or bathroom handrails. Breakfast at the Inn is available weekends-only in the Breakfast Barn (excluding winter months).
Country Woods Inn is a wonderful vacation destination with a fun family atmosphere in the farmlands of Texas Hill Country. We also host weddings, reunions and church retreats!
Our beautiful wedding chapel is nestled in a grove of trees overlooking the Paluxy River. The old-fashioned bell tower and stained glass windows create a stunning romantic atmosphere. The chapel has 16 benches (enough for roughly 50 people) inside, and side windows open out to accommodate an overflow crowd of up to 50 (100 guests in total).
Wedding packages start at $500 for the chapel only, with add-ons such as a reception and guest accommodations in the 12-person main lodge for $2,500 or renting out the entire Inn for guests to stay onsite (the main lodge and our smaller cabins sleep up to 50) for $7,500.
Please note that we can only allow alcohol to be served at receptions if you are renting the entire resort. If you plan to have your reception off-site, we can make recommendations!
We also have a large Barn that can be used for gatherings such as meals or study groups. Adding our vintage airstream and rail car guest houses bring the total resort capacity to 60.

Your stay at The Carriage House includes full access to resort amenities at Country Woods Inn, such as: a barnyard breakfast with the animals in the old stable; picnicking in fields of wildflowers; a children’s library and art studio in the middle of the llama corral; 40 wooded acres to hike and explore (also a great place for bird watching); horseshoes, basketball and volleyball; fishing on the Paluxy River; and much more!
The picturesque downtown square of Glen Rose, TX, is within walking distance from the cabin. Here, you’ll find quaint shops and restaurants as well as a museum. On the third Saturday of every month, Glen Rose hosts Stroll the Square, with games, sales and other entertainment. We are also close to rock climbing at Big Rocks, Dinosaur Valley State Park and Dinosaur World, the Texas Amphitheater, Mini golf, an enormous public pool and a drive-in movie theater.

Guests are welcome to arrive anytime after 3 PM and must vacate by 11 AM.
