Zug Swiss Log Cabin is the newest addition to Baron CreekSide Swiss Village. Resting at the secluded junction of two creeks, this latest masterpiece of Swiss and Texan craftsmanship enjoys a private section of resort grounds with a wooden footbridge over the water.
The hand-forged front door of Zug cabin is accented by a stone patio and a quaint covered porch. Step inside, and you are greeted by vaulted ceilings, a spectacular stone fireplace, intricate wood flooring and a beautiful open-concept living space and master suite.
The luxurious corner bedroom features a king-sized bed and a connected full bath with a two-person jetted tub. The kitchenette in the main living area is fully equipped with small appliances, dishes, complimentary condiments, and a selection of locally grown ground coffee.
Zug is one of 10 unique Swiss Log Cabins, sharing grounds at Barons CreekSide Swiss Village with four larger vacation homes. Our couples-only log cabins are designed for privacy, each with their own scenic view and private porch. After years of hosting some of our guests’ most memorable moments — from engagements and elopements to anniversaries and everything in between — we’ve earned the title of “most romantic getaway in Hill Country.”
Barons CreekSide can also accommodate small wedding parties! With sleeping arrangements for up to 52 guests at a time, our cabin rentals and homes are ideal for a small destination wedding. Let us know about your big event, and we can help with choosing a ceremony backdrop, scheduling a rehearsal or reception at The Club, and finding a local florist or caterer.
Visit Barons CreekSide Swiss Village and find lots of unique day trips and attractions — both on resort grounds, and in the larger Fredericksburg area. We absolutely loves our stay here! We were looking for a quiet, romantic place to stay for our 20 year anniversary and I'm so glad we cancelled our hotel stay and changed it to here. The Club had a very welcoming atmosphere for all age groups. Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch morning and night was so relaxing. We even ventured down the nature trail. We saw so many fireflies, it was magical! I haven't see those in years. It was also nice how easy it is to check in and out here. This will be on our list to come visit again. J & S
Love you place cant wait to cime back...beautiful. Charles A. Trexler
The location was great, close enough and far enough from town. We stayed in the Lucerne cabin. It was lovely and perfect for a two night getaway. Deborah and Daniel were wonderful hosts. The cabin was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and the craftsmanship was amazing! Will definitely go back! Jane Smith
The location was perfect. As soon as you stepped foot on the property you were transported to the countryside. However, you are so close to town if you need to run in or plan on walking down Main Street. The owners were wonderful and provided a fantastic experience. The cabins and grounds are so full of charm and detail. You can’t go wrong staying here. Arie Lyn

Barons Creekside is beautiful, secluded and peaceful! My husband and I were only able to come for an overnight trip this time but we will definitely be back!! Reservations, check in and out were easy. The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. We are hoping to make this an annual destination. Well worth the drive if you are looking for a much needed trip away! Resort owner Dr. Daniel Meyer of Switzerland fell in love with the Texas Hill Country on a trip to the United States in 2006. After one night in what is now the Baron’s Log Cabin, he decided to buy the home and 26 acres of undeveloped pasture to create what would one day become the CreekSide Swiss Village in Fredericksburg.
Using historic design elements of his own 250-year-old Swiss farmhouse in Lucerne (such as its doors and windows) — along with the talents of Texas cabin builder Joey Johns and the teachings of a native Swiss craftsman, he set out to build his dream village one cabin at a time, filling them with genuine antiques along the way.
Daniel has since met his partner in the native Texan lady Deborah, who shares his passion for the resort. Barons CreekSide has been host to proposals, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions and more. We invite you to stay and experience our slice of Swiss heaven, right in the heart of Texas.
