Our Morgarten authentic Swiss Log Cabin is a unique showcase of custom craftsmanship, with an open-concept living space that opens the full design to your view.
The interior highlights antique feature pieces such as a repurposed wood-stove-turned-coffee-bar, a wringer-washer-turned-vanity-sink, a whimsical rooftop cupola, and a set of Alpine avalanche escape doors framing the king-sized bed.
The main living area at Morgarten consists of a fully equipped kitchenette, a cozy sitting room with a stone-surround, real wood-burning fireplace, and a master suite with a two-person “aquarium” jacuzzi tub.
Outside, you’ll have exclusive access to a private, covered porch with old-fashioned rocking chairs that looks out over our creek, duck pond and beautiful manicured resort grounds. We also provide a barbecue grill and a complimentary supply of locally roasted ground coffee.
The for-couples-only Swiss Log Cabins at Barons CreekSide are specially designed to be the most romantic getaway in the Texas Hill Country. This little Swiss Village has hosted countless engagements, elopements, anniversaries and retreats.
We also welcome larger wedding parties! Our grounds are a wonderful, scenic spot for ceremonies and photos, while The Club located just a short walk from your cabin is ideal for a small reception. We can even help you connect with local florists and caterers. The resort has a max capacity of 52 guests.
Barons CreekSide Swiss Village is a quiet, remote and romantic destination offering plenty to do onsite and nearby in the Fredericksburg area. You can take a stroll on our nature trails, explore our small vineyard, or take your fishing gear out to Barons Creek (home to bass, catfish and perch. We also partner with local professionals to offer in-cabin couple’s massages.
In addition to our Swiss Log Cabins for two and our six larger vacation homes, we have The Club on property. This quaint venue is open to the public for European-style bistro dining and regularly scheduled live music. Open Thursday, Friday, & Saturday evenings. Let us know during booking, and we’ll be sure to save you a table on your selected evenings.
Other things to do and see in the area include a wine tour and shuttle — the Village sits right at the entrance to 290 Wine Road, which is home to 40 local wineries within 20 miles. Or, you can do some scenic hiking at Enchanted Rock State Park, unique shopping in downtown, or take a haunted tour of historic downtown Fredericksburg.

Your card is charged 14 days before arrival. If you cancel up to 72 hours before arrival, we would issue you a gift certificate for a future stay for the entire amount. Cancellations up to two weeks in advance will be charged a processing fee of $49.99. Cancellations made less than72 hours in advance will be issued a gift certificate if the cabin is able to be re-rented.
Additional guests not disclosed during booking will be charged upon arrival. No pets.
We absolutely loves our stay here! We were looking for a quiet, romantic place to stay for our 20 year anniversary and I'm so glad we cancelled our hotel stay and changed it to here. The Club had a very welcoming atmosphere for all age groups. Sitting on the rocking chairs on the porch morning and night was so relaxing. We even ventured down the nature trail. We saw so many fireflies, it was magical! I haven't see those in years. It was also nice how easy it is to check in and out here. This will be on our list to come visit again. J & S

The location was great, close enough and far enough from town. We stayed in the Lucerne cabin. It was lovely and perfect for a two night getaway. Deborah and Daniel were wonderful hosts. The location was perfect. As soon as you stepped foot on the property you were transported to the countryside. However, you are so close to town if you need to run in or plan on walking down Main Street. The owners were wonderful and provided a fantastic experience. Barons Creekside is beautiful, secluded and peaceful! My husband and I were only able to come for an overnight trip this time but we will definitely be back!! Reservations, check in and out were easy. The cabin was so cozy and welcoming. We are hoping to make this an annual destination. Well worth the drive if you are looking for a much needed trip away! Resort owner Dr. Daniel Meyer of Switzerland fell in love with the Texas Hill Country on a trip to the United States in 2006. After one night in what is now the Baron’s Log Cabin, he decided to buy the home and 26 acres of undeveloped pasture to create what would one day become the CreekSide Swiss Village in Fredericksburg.
Using historic design elements of his own 250-year-old Swiss farmhouse in Lucerne (such as its doors and windows) — along with the talents of Texas cabin builder Joey Johns and the teachings of a native Swiss craftsman, he set out to build his dream village one cabin at a time, filling them with genuine antiques along the way.
Daniel has since met his partner in the native Texan lady Deborah, who shares his passion for the resort. Barons CreekSide has been host to proposals, weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions and more.
